SCOTT HITCHENS REBOUNDS TO WIN FIRST IN AC DELCO

The 15-lap AC Delco TSS Modified feature was intense with the point championship very much up for grabs. Ted Reynolds earned his first pole starting spot by setting fast time and having a zero inversion draw.

Reynolds set the pace while sophomore driver, Scott Hitchens kept the pressure on in second. Reynolds got out of shape on lap seven nearly collecting Hitchens. Eric Vent shot by into the lead while Reynolds recovered for second and Hitchens dropped to fourth. At the halfway sign the top five were Vent out front and Reynolds in second. Hitchens was on the move on the outside taking third from Scott Baker and Joseph Tracey held fifth.

Hitchens moved into the second spot with two to go and stayed on the charge taking the lead from Vent at the White flag. Hitchens went on to post his first career win with Vent having to settle for second. Reynolds crossed the line in third but was too light at the scales and disqualified. Third went to Tracey who is second in points with Baker fourth and Tyler Reed fifth. Point leader John Curtis finished behind Westley Smith in seventh.

AC Delco TSS Modified Finish: 1. Scott Hitchens; 2. Eric Vent; 3. Joseph Tracy; 4. Scott Baker; 5. Tyler Reed; 6. Westley Smith; 7. John Curtis; 8. Danny Smack; 9. Herman Powell; 10.
