KYLE TUBBS WINS DELMARVA CHARGERS AT WIRE - RONNIE LAYTON WIRE TO WIRE IN SLIDE FOR 5

The Delmarva Chargers and Super Trucks put on a fiercely contested battle in their 10 lap championship feature. Derrick Swafford headed a pack of seven cars and trucks that were running two and three wide throughout the race. The yellow came out with two laps to go when Joe Waters came to a stop.

 

On the restart, the lead pack went three wide with Ashley Merritt going off the top side in a bid for the lead. Guy Mitchell edged out front in his truck at the one to go sign but Kyle Tubbs, who had missed a shift and fell to mid pack at the start of the race, came off the fourth turn on the outside and took the win from Mitchell by a bumper at the line. Tubbs collected a $500 bonus from Campbell’s Collision and $25 for supporting Brest Cancer Awareness from Blondie. Mitchell finished first truck in the second spot with Tyler White in a truck third. Fourth went to Swafford and Jay Sipple rounded out the top five.

Ronnie Layton shot out to a quick lead in the Slide for 5 feature and managed to stay out of trouble and keep the car straight for the remainder of the distance. Layton got the win and picked up $50 in lap leader bonus money. Matt Carmean came from ninth to finish in second and Robin Phillips finished third.
