COLBY STEELE CAPTURES VINTAGE CHAMPIONSHIP, MATT CARMEAN WINS SLIDE FOR 5 SEASON FINALE

Colby Steele battled his way past Freddy Brightbill on the first lap of the 10-lap Vintage Stock Car main and never was seriously challenged from that point on . Mel Joseph, Jr. took second from Cody Belote and would chase Steele for the remainder of the distance. C.J. Schirmer had a good run coming from ninth to finish in third. Fourth went to Chuck Tucker who started in 11th and Jim Pride, Jr. came from tenth to finish in fifth. Dori Davidson finished first sportsman in 10th. Steele collected $100 in lap leader money and Davidson received $20 from the Southern Delaware Vintage Club for first sportsman.

The track for the Slide for 5 finale was extra slick providing for some wild racing. Robert Reed led the first four laps to earn $40 in lap leader money but it was Matt Carmean sliding past Reed in the final turn to take the win. Reed held on to finish in second with Spence Messick, Ronnie Layton and C.J. Dickerson rounding out the top five.
