“Tony Sterling Tribute� 1st State AMA Grand Nationals presented by Don’s Kawasaki – Yamaha – Sea Doo of Hallam, Pa. Saturday Sept. 19th

Delmar, DE – The “Roar on the Shore� will hear the roar of the top AMA Flat Track riders in the nation this weekend as the Delaware International Speedway presents the “Tony Sterling Tribute� 1st State AMA Grand Nationals presented by Don’s Kawasaki – Yamaha – Sea Doo of Hallam, Pa. on Saturday night, Sept. 19th. The speedway will host a three day “Roar on the Shore� bikers rally leading up to the National event.

 

Thirty-four of the nation’s top riders have already entered the Grand National Championship 1 event including two-time and defending national champion, Jared Mees of Clio, Michigan and the top nine riders in national points. Mees currently leads last year’s runner-up, Bryan Smith of Flushing, Michigan but just one point! With only three events left in the 2015 season, Saturday night’s event will be crucial in determining this year’s champion. Also in action will be the Grand National Championship 2 division riders.

 

Gates open for spectators on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The Roar on the Shore Bikers’ Rally in the 11 acre front lot of the track will open at noon with lots of vendors, games, food, cold beverages and entertainment. “Parental Guidance� will play on stage from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. and “Rampage� will be the featured group from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A special rider autograph session will begin at 5:30 p.m. The Paddock area will be open to spectators at this time. Pre-race opening ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. followed by qualifying in both the Grand National Championship 1 and Grand National Championship 2 divisions begins at 7:30 p.m. The GNC2 Main Event with 18 riders going 16 laps will begin at approximately 9:20 p.m. followed by GNC1 introductions and the GNC1 Main Event presented by Vance and Hines with 18 riders going 25 laps.

 

Activities get underway on Thursday, September 17th as the “Roar on the Shore� Bikers Rally opens in the front lot. Events including a Corn Hole Tournament, Tire Toss Competition, Bike Rodeo and live entertainment will run from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. There will be vendors, food, beverages and live music by “Shots Fired� and “Front Page News.� Friday’s schedule will mirror Thursday’s schedule but activities will run from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m. with music being provided by “Silence No More� from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and “Front Page News� from 9 p.m. until close at 11 p.m.
